I was a bit surprised to see this on our local TV newscast. Then I checked out the "parish" in New York. Is the local bishop AWOL? Where is Cardinal Egan?

NYC’s 38th Annual LGBT Pride March Sunday, June 24thI wonder if any of the local "parishes" marched in the parade here today...?
The Church of St. Francis Xavier is the only church in NewYork City, maybe one of a handful in the world, to march hunder their banner as a Roman Catholic parish in the Pride Parade. We welcome all, as did Christ. So we ask you—our chosen church family—to walk with us and represent a parish that truly lives the Gospel. Along with the celebration will be evangelization. (We hand out brochures about St. Francis Xavier Church and all its ministries to spectators, many of whom have left the church because of hurts and misunderstandings.) Attend the 9:00 AM Mass with us and together let’s head uptown to our starting point (somewhere near 52nd Street and Fifth Avenue; more information to come). If you have any questions, please e-mail SFXWomen@aol.com or SFXGLGroup@aol.com.Your sister and brother in Christ, Stephanie Samoy and John Weber.
