St Louis Catholic Parish Promotes New Ways Ministry Event

A local parish has decided to promote a talk by the executive director of New Ways Ministry in its parish bulletin. Of course, this talk is not being held in a Catholic parish, but does not its promotion in a church bulletin lend approval for a 'ministry' whose founders have been sanctioned by the Vatican?

The bulletin blurb:
Mark Your Calendar - Francis DeBernardo, the executive director of New Ways Ministry, will be speaking on Sunday 5 August at the Quaker Meeting House, 1001 Park Ave, 63104. New Ways Ministry provides a ministry of advocacy and justice for lesbian and gay Catholics and reconciliation within the larger Christian and civil communities. Through research, publication and education about homosexuality, New Ways promotes the acceptance of gay and lesbian people as full and equal members of church and society. More information on this speaking engagement by Francis DeBernardo soon!

In 1999, Courage International published an article on the history of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith's investigation into the teachings on homosexuality of New Ways Ministry founders, Fr. Robert Nugent and Sr. Jeannine Gramick, which can be read here.
