Following weeks of speculation by pundits that Senator McCain might name a pro-abortion running mate, the Republican candidate sent a strong signal to pro-life voters by selecting an outspoken
Right-to-Life advocate, pro-life Governor Sarah Palin.

A self-acknowledged member of Feminists for Life, Palin and her pro-life husband are the parents of five children including a baby boy with Downs Syndrome born earlier this year. Following prenatal diagnosis, the Palins took the opportunity to publicly highlight the sanctity and value of every person, including their son.

"We knew through early testing that he would face special challenges, and we feel privileged that God would entrust us with this gift and allow us unspeakable joy as he entered our lives..."Governor Palin stated. "We have faith that every baby is created for good purpose and has potential to make this world a better place. We are truly blessed..." Palin said.

"We understand that every innocent life has wonderful potential...and again, I'm looking at him right now, and I see perfection."

The Palins' other children include Track, 18, Bristol, 17, Willow, 13, and Piper, 7.
