When thou shalt arrive thus far, that tribulation becomes sweet and savoury to thee for the love of Christ; then think that it is well with thee, for thou hast found a paradise upon earth.
-Bk. II, ch. xii.
_______________
Long ago suffering became a paradise on earth for me, and I cannot imagine how I shall become acclimatized in a land where all is happiness without a trace of sorrow. Our Lord will have to transform my soul, otherwise it will not be able to bear eternal bliss.
-Espirit de Sainte Therese.
