Principles and Practices - June 12

No Half Measures

Your heart must be filled either by God or by the world. If it be the world you will be insensibly drawn backward till you may find yourself in the abyss. But if it be filled by God Be will not allow you to remain in a state of cowardly tepidity. Your conscience will press you forward. Recollection will become a joy to you; and the things which have hitherto been a delight to you will seem vain and foolish. You will fed within you a power before which all else must gradually yield. In a word, you will perforce belong entirely to God.

-Fenelon.
