Thoughts from St Alphonsus for Every Day-August 15

(The Assumption of Mary)
IT is certain that Mary's good works incomparably surpassed in merit those of all the Saints, and therefore her reward must have surpassed theirs in the same proportion. The Blessed Virgin being full of all graces, excelled each Saint in each particular virtue. Hence of her it was said: The Queen stood on thy right hand in gilded clothing, surrounded by variety.
