Reflections on Prayer
Prayer is not the breaking down of the reluctance of God; it is rather the opening of a door. "Behold I stand at the door and knock." The latch is on our side and not His.
Prayer opens that door:
"Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If any man listens to my voice, and opens the door to me, I will come in to him and will sup with him, and he with me" (Apoc. 3:20)...[Continued tomorrow]
