Reflections on Prayer

When you pray, do not do all the talking! Listen!

We are so impolite when we pray, chattering and mumbling all the time, never giving God a chance to get a word in edgewise.

"Speak, Lord, for thy servant heareth" (I Kings 3: 9).

If we keep pounding away with our hammers, how can the Divine Architect tell us how we ought to build?...
