Bishop Foley Suspends Resignation

Bishop David E. Foley had announced his resignation April seventh. He previously said the Vatican had accepted his retirement request on February third, his 75th birthday. But in a statement today, Foley said the announcement was premature and that the Vatican had not yet granted his request to step down.
