Quebec Judge Denies Families Religious Exemption From Mandatory School Course in Relativism
The Quebec Superior Court has denied a petition from concerned Catholic parents who wanted exemptions for their children from the province's mandatory relativism program, 'Ethics and Religious Culture' (ERC). In making his decision, the judge, Justice Jean-Guy Dubois, relied heavily on two Catholic sources: (1) the testimony of a Catholic theologian who emphasized that the Catholic Church values instruction in other religions, and (2) the position of the Assembly of Quebec Catholic Bishops, who did not support "a priori" exemptions based on religion...

Cardinal O'Malley Defends Role at Kennedy RitesCardinal O’Malley issued a forceful defense of his decision to participate in the funeral of Senator Kennedy; revealed the substance of a conversation he had with President Obama: Catholic bishops are “anxious to support a plan for universal health care, but we will not support a plan that will include a provision for abortion or could open the way to abortions in the future." ...

O’Malley said he regretted Kennedy’s support for abortion rights. But “As archbishop of Boston, I considered it appropriate to represent the church at this liturgy out of respect for the senator, his family, those who attended the Mass and all those who were praying for the senator and his family at this difficult time. We are people of faith and we believe in a loving and forgiving God from whom we seek mercy."’

Raymond Arroyo at EWTN wrote: “The prayer intercessions, endless eulogies, image of the cardinal reading prayers, and finally Cardinal McCarrick interring the remains sent an uncontested message: One may defy church teaching, publicly lead others astray, deprive innocent lives of their rights, and still be seen a good Catholic, even an exemplary one.’’
[O'Malley needs prayers for his conversion. He does the Church NO favors by supporting and defending a host of so-called "Catholic" politicians. He is another useless hireling who fails to watch over the flock!]

US halts aid over Honduras coup [following its Constitution]
The US has halted all non-humanitarian aid to Honduras - about $30m (£18.4m) - in the wake of June's coup. The state department said the US needed to take strong action given the failure of the replacement regime to restore "democratic, constitutional rule".
[The statists in DC only recognize and support totalitarian regimes]

[Ultra] Left-leaning President Manuel Zelaya was ousted from power and forced to leave the country on 28 June. The US aid decision came as he met Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in Washington. "With this decision of the United States, the countries of the Americas have formed a single bloc in condemning the coup," Mr Zelaya was quoted as saying by the AFP news agency....
