Q. What is your opinion about the increase of homosexuality in Brazilian society? Do you believe it harms family integrity?

The effect of homosexuality on the family in Brazil is the same as everywhere else.

Since the homosexual relationship is sterile by definition, it is destructive of the family; it is the opposite of the family, and the number one enemy of the family....Homosexuality is completely contrary to the natural order and therefore contrary to the family.....

As you know, in 1968 there were demonstrations by theologians and students against Humanae Vitae. Imagine taking to the streets against the Magisterium. Clergy also signed petitions objecting to the document, as if petitions could alter the Truth!

Now HLI is offering an opportunity to right that disgrace by offering clergy the opportunity to sign their names to a pledge in support of Humanae vitae. A generation later time has vindicated the truth of Humanae Vitae in the destruction we have brought upon our heads by rejecting God’s prophet Pope Paul VI when he uttered the warning of the disaster that would ensue if contraception became widespread. Foolish theologians mocked the Church’s teaching on the dignity of human sexuality as “pelvic issues.”

Today almost every major issue confronting the Church could have been avoided by adherence to Humanae Vitae: Abortion, widespread promiscuity, abuse of woman and children, skyrocketing divorce, a decline in religious vocations, bioethical nightmares, coercive population control, widespread homosexuality (owing to the separation of sex from procreation) and even excessive female hormones in the water supply affecting fish altering males so they can’t reproduce.

All from sniffing at “pelvic issues.”

The truth surfaces again: Abstinence seen as key to AIDS fight in Africa

Boston, May. 9, 2008 (CWNews.com) - Efforts to curb the AIDS epidemic in Africa should concentrate on promoting sexual restraint, a team of Harvard researchers has concluded, after finding that condom-distribution campaigns have not significantly reduced the spread of the disease.

"We need a fairly dramatic shift in priorities, not just a minor tweaking," said Dr. Daniel Halperin, who led the research team from the Harvard School of Public Health. The group's report in Science magazine found that male circumcision had a dramatic effect in curtailing the transfer of the HIV virus. But efforts to promote condom use did not affect the spread of AIDS in Africa....

Brazil Prepares for Carnival of Hedonism

Western hedonism seems to have taken over much of the world including countries once described as very Catholic. I couldn't help think of Roman orgies and debaucheries while reading this article...Government leaders who promote such behavior are not fit for the offices they hold. They work in league with the evil one and participate in the further destruction of souls and society.

TZANEEN, South Africa, JAN. 9, 2008 (Zenit.org).- Condoms are not an effective solution in the fight against AIDS, says Bishop Hugh Slattery, and the situation in South Africa proves it.

In this interview with ZENIT, Bishop Slattery of Tzaneen, South Africa, discusses the award-winning documentary "Sowing in Tears" that he collaborated on with producer Norman Servais, of Metanoia Media....

Bishop Slattery: Parents really struggle when it comes to giving appropriate guidance to their children. Most of them didn't get that kind of guidance when they themselves were growing up and they generally lack the skills to give it to their children.

The transition to democracy in this country has brought about freedom but at a price, especially for young people. There has been an aggressive promotion of a very secular human rights culture for everyone, including children.

As a result, parents feel they have no authority over their own children and just let them do what they like. Sometimes children threaten their parents: "If you touch me, I'll tell the police!"

The government passed a very liberal abortion law in the mid-'90s, allowing minors to have abortions without the consent of their parents -- they are just counseled, but not obliged, to inform their parents. Recently, the government has also passed legislation allowing same-sex marriages.

Despite the promotion of condoms in schools, there is a high rate of pregnancy among schoolgirls, sometimes as high as 20%.

The outside influences promote and consolidate all this kind of behavior. In fact, they make a lot of money out of it through the multimillion-dollar condom business.

South Africa and the neighboring countries of Botswana and Swaziland have the highest rate of HIV/AIDS infection in the world and also the highest rate of condom distribution.

The conclusion is inescapable that more condoms mean more cases of AIDS and more deaths. It is, of course, "politically incorrect" both here and in the Western world to even hint at the possibility that condoms may in fact be fueling the spread of this deadly disease rather than curbing it....
