"It's no easy thing you're doing..."

. . .so stated a local St. Louis diocesan priest as he shook Marek Bozek's hand on Christmas Eve. The quote from the Post Dispatch is obscure enough that one should probably not "read into it" something which is not there. Fair enough!

So let us see which local priest stopped by to see Marek Bozek...It is none other than the Reverend Gerald Kleba, pastor of the Archdiocesan "Social Justice" Parish - St Cronan's, a parish considered by some, as somewhat heterodox.

One wonders if Fr. Kleba, while shaking Bozek's hand, asked the schismatic priest to reconsider his errors and seek repentance for his transgressions? Or, was this merely a "welcoming" visit. Or was this a visit to demonstrate a show of "solidarity" with those who choose to dissent? Was this visit a indication that there are others who have similar dissenting leanings? We should hope that Fr. Kleba provided him some words upon which to reflect.

Unfortunately, we are not provided sufficient information from which to make an informed opinion. However, it seems that common sense would dictate that no action of any kind should have been taken by ANY local diocesan priest which would give the appearance of support to a defiant, disobedient, and schimatic priest as this would be scandalalous to the faithful.
