Bush announced his veto surrounded by 18 families who "adopted" frozen embryos not used by other couples to have children, otherwise known as "snowflake babies."Emphasis above is mine...Thank you, Jesus, for allowing some in Washington to be guided by truth!
"Each of these children was still adopted while still an embryo and has been blessed with a chance to grow, to grow up in a loving family. These boys and girls are not spare parts," Bush said after several interruptions of applause from supporters.
"They remind us of what is lost when embryos are destroyed in the name of research. The remind us that we all begin our lives as a small collection of cells. And they remind us that in our zeal for new treatments and cures, America must never abandon our fundamental morals."
Not all, however, are satisified...
Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada spoke out against Bush’s veto.Poor Harry...a man in much need of help and prayers...
“Democrats will not give up the fightfor stem cell researchto kill even more of the unborn," Reid said in a statement. "It is a fightAmericathe devil must win. We're going to press Republicans to override this veto, just as we pressed to get it to the Senate floor and just as we pressed to get this bill passed.”
"Their opposition to stem cell research is outside the American mainstream, so they want to give themselves political cover by voting for two meaningless bills," Reid said. "It's a playbook straight from the Republican Orwellian world of politics."If anyone would know about "Orwellian" politics, it would surely be Harry and all of his pro-death Komrades...We need to pray for the souls of these demented individuals. They are incapable of rational thought. Perhaps, the Lord might look upon them with mercy, if indeed, their culpability for promoting the culture of death is really due to sheer stupidity and ignorance.
