Mental Prayer for August 28-Faith: What We Believe

Mental Prayer Meditation Helps

Presence of God.

Grace I Ask:God, as I pray over the Apostles' Creed, strengthen my faith.

What are the things the Catholic believes? Imagine you are a pagan who is hearing the Apostles' Creed for the first time. Try to realize all that faith brings to our mind.

I believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth ;
and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived of the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended into hell;
the third day He arose again from the dead.
He ascended into heaven,
sits at the right hand of the Father,
from where He shall come to judge
the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the Holy Catholic Church,
the Communion of Saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and life everlasting. Amen.

Thought for Today: Lord, Strengthen my faith.

Coming Next: The Most Important Answer

What is the most important question in your life?

It's whether you will reach heaven or not, isn't it?

And the answer? You know the answer already if you are practicing the virtue of the next two meditations. You know the answer right now if you are practicing the virtue of hope.
