True Ban on Human Cloning Endorsed By House Health Care Policy Committee Advances to Rules Committee
Last Tuesday the Health Care Policy Committee voted 5 - 0 to endorse HJR11 and forward to the full House for consideration. Nine of the 10 committee members were present when Chairman Wayne Cooper took up the joint resolution in executive session. Four committee members who have expressed opposition to HJR11 chose not to vote on the measure.
The action was fair and reasonable as testimony on both sides of the resolution was heard during a previous committee meeting.
HJR 11 must now be reviewed and voted out of the Rules Committee to be debated by the full House of Representatives.
ACTION NEEDED:
We need your help to ensure that HJR 11 is voted out of the Rules Committee. Please contact members of the Rules Committee and request that they vote to advance HJR 11 to the full House. If one of the committee members is your elected representative, be sure to let him or her know that fact.
The Member of the House Rules Committee (with District, Office Phone, & Email):
Rep. Shannon Cooper, Chair R-120 573-751-1484 Shannon.Cooper@house.mo.gov
Rep. Tom Dempsey, Vice Chair R-18 573-751-1141 Tom.Dempsey@house.mo.gov

The cloning proponents are paying an out-of-state phone bank company to call representatives urging them not to support HJR 11.
You, as active Missouri voters can be so much more effective. We know the majority of our elected representatives will support a true ban on human cloning if they are provided the opportunity to vote on this critical resolution.
If we succeed in passing the resolution through the legislative process, we will save the thousands of dollars and countless hours of time an initiative petition will require. The legislature, not the Secretary of State will control the ballot summary language through this process as well.
Thank you all so much for your continued efforts!
Have a Blessed Easter!
Jaci
