IF we have made any progress at all in contemplation we seek not that those whom we love feel delight and astonishment, when contemplating the works of human hands, but we seek to lift them up to the very skill and counsel of their author, and hence to rise to the admiration and praise of the all-creating God in whom is the most fruitful end of love.
