My Jesus say, what wretch has dared
Thy sacred hands to bind?
And who has dared to buffet so
Thy face so meek and kind?
'Tis I have thus ungrateful been
Yet, Jesus, pity take;
Oh spare and pardon me, my Lord,
For thy sweet mercy's sake.
