Christian Sympathy
Christian sympathy means being good natured, large-hearted, and broad-minded, not in the sense of being easy-going, tolerant of evil, and countenancing low ideals, but in the sense of being far more eager to discern and acknowledge in our neighbour his good qualities than to notice and advertise his shortcomings. It is a mark of narrow-mindedness quickly and fiercely to pounce upon our neighbour's defects, whilst turning a blind eye to the good side of his character. Look for the good in everybody and it will come out to meet you.
-Father Degen.
