Good From Evil
Even the sinful world can make us think of God. What is sin but an act against God?
Sin should shock and shame simply because God is offended.
The sight of sin should turn us to God. Indifference to God should make us zealous for God.
Forgetfulness of God should compel us to remember Him. Everything which leaves God out should induce us to bring Him in.
So the wretched world which struggles to gain its goal without God can be used to stimulate us to work for His objects and with His ways.
If we are hurt when people injure us we should be pained when people ignore God. We ought not to take insults to God lying down.
Every violation of God's law makes us realize the presence of God if we remember the meaning of sin.
