With Our Culture

In light of the Terri Schiavo case, death by starvation has been put in the limelight. Many have sought to say that food and water are extraordinary measures to sustain life. Our talk will clearly outline the Catholic position on this matter. It will explain why death by starvation is cruel and contrary to Divine and natural law. How “living wills” do not always resolve the problem. How the term “brain dead” is misused to facilitate death by starvation. We will discuss why today’s culture prepares the way for extending this practice beyond the mentally disabled.
This talk is one of a series of regularly held talks sponsored by the American Society for the Defense of Tradition, Family and Property (TFP) and its America Needs Fatima campaign. The speaker is American TFP director John Horvat II who has already spoken on numerous occasions in St. Louis. Please join us for what promises to be a stimulating afternoon of Catholic conviviality, enlightening conversation, and hope for the future.
