Federal tax returns filed by the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence show their biggest moneymaker over the years has been “Revival Bingo” and that, in 2005, San Francisco Catholic Charities received a $1000 donation from the “leading order of queer nuns.”
The information comes from the group’s Form 990, a form required by federal law to be filed every year by tax-exempt charities...
For the 2005 calendar year, the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence reported a total income of $129,380, with an end-of-year balance of $55,330 after expenses. Of the total income, the group reported gross receipts of $33,212 for 10 bingo games -- an average of more than $3300 per game...
