"Rick Majerus is more of a basket case than a basketball coach. His sicknesses all fit so neatly together: He has a modern anti-Catholic 'Jesuit' education; he embraces superficial, undigested rhetoric about the issues; he is a jock pretending to be a scientist; and he exhibits a defiant disobedience to religious authority. Dante would have a field day — no pun intended — putting this guy in the pit of hell. He should be excommunicated along with all the Jesuits who 'educated' him."Neatly rolled into a compact, yet powerful paragraph...
The real problem is that there are so many more just like him, and they are either intellectually dishonest or intellectually ignorant - nevertheless, they pervade most parishes like a disease. And this diesease can only be overcome by prayer and by practicing - living - fidelity to the Church's teachings and her disciplines. It's time for heroic and courageous actions to be taken on the part of faithful bishops, priests, religious, and laity - all are called to be examples of holiness and fidelity to Christ and His Church.

And there is more here from Father John Trigilio, president of the Confraternity of Catholic Clergy, as well as from Father James Farfaglia, of Corpus Christi, TX.
