The Catholic Church Extension Society, a Chicago group that supports missionary work in poor urban and rural parts of the United States, [presented] its annual Lumen Christi (or Light of Christ) award to Connolly at a Mass and dinner in her honor [last week].Article here.
Belleville Bishop Wilton Gregory nominated Connolly for the award.
"I can't begin to express how proud I am to be associated with this wonderful woman of faith," he said in an e-mail. "Sister Ann truly is the Light of Christ for so many in our diocese."
