After commencement, Catholic-identity battles continue
The brouhaha over Chairman MaObama's appearance at the University of Notre Dame culminated Sunday with apparent defeat for pro-life Catholics. The university's hotly contested plan to bestow an honorary degree on Obama, a staunch supporter of legalized abortion and embryonic stem cell research, went off without a hitch....

Did Obama Bring Hope to Notre Dame?
Now that the incident is behind us, let me make a confession: I wasn't at all surprised when Notre Dame announced that Pres__ent [ID missing[ Obama would be the commencement speaker, and receive an honorary degree. Shocked, yes. Appalled, definitely. Perhaps "scandalized" would not be too strong a word. But surprised? Not at all. Let's be honest: Notre Dame's decision to honor [Obama] was perfectly in keeping with the overall trend in the university's policies over the past 40 years....

Free Abortions = Fewer?
Today we present lesson two in our series on the “logic” of the “Obama Catholics”. In lesson one we learned that it’s “thinkingly” Catholic to defend politicians who justify sucking brains out of little children, as long as you condemn politicians who justify waterboarding. WHO chief warns H1N1 swine flu likely to worsen
The world must be ready for H1N1 swine flu to become more severe and kill more people, World Health Organization chief Dr. Margaret Chan said on Friday. A genetic analysis of the new virus showed it must have been circulating undetected for some time, in pigs or perhaps in other animals.
