Thoughts from St Alphonsus for Every Day-November 1

(All Saints)
WHEN the crosses of this life afflict us, let us animate ourselves with the hope of heaven to bear them patiently. St Mary of Egypt, being asked at the end of her life by the Abbot Zosimus how she had been able to live for so many years in such a desert, replied: "Through the hope of heaven."
