Catholicism Under Assault by Connecticut Legislature
Bill #1098 has been introduced in the Connecticut legislature by Rep. Michael Lawlor and Sen. Andrew McDonald that orders the Catholic Church to reorganize. Its express purpose is “To revise the corporate governance provisions applicable to the Roman Catholic Church and provide for the investigation of the misappropriation of funds by religious corporations.” It specifies that each parish is to elect a board of directors to run all parish functions, thus stripping the Pastor of his authority....

Congress to create a Financial Products Safety Commission
Lawmakers in the Senate and House on Monday announced plans to introduce legislation creating a Financial Products Safety Commission that would approve mortgage products and provide consumers with advice about credit cards and retirement accounts.
[UNBELIEVABLE!!! These clowns figure they'll create YET ANOTHER layer of waste and "oversight" from which to draw even more bribes and extortion payments!!! One might rightly wonder why they don't fix the SEC, the OCC and the FTC? Idiots!!! More evidence that we need to clear the congressional deck!]
