Thoughts of St Augustine for September 30

HE was hungry who feeds all men; he was thirsty by whom is created everything that is drunk, and who is spiritually the bread of the hungry and the fountain of the thirsty: he was wearied with his earthly journey who has made himself the Way for us to heaven...he was put to the torment of the Cross who put an end to all our torments. He died who raised the dead.
