Just for Today, June 17

There is no living in love without some pain or sorrow. Whosoever is not ready to suffer all things, and to stand resigned to the will of his Beloved, is not worthy to be called a lover.

-Bk. III, ch. v.
_______________

Do not imagine that love can be found without suffering, for we carry with us our human nature; and yet, what a source of merit it is! It is our bread-winner, and so precious an asset that Our Lord came down on earth in order to possess it.

-Letters.
