Another Appeal Letter to St Stanislaus

It would not be an act of justice or prudence to let this letter slip into obscurity:
St. Stanislaus: Rejoin the faithful

What kind of values are we teaching our children? The St. Stanislaus Board of Directors has hired a suspended priest for its church. The priest, the Rev. Marek Bozek, has been quoted as saying that the Vatican and Archdiocese of St. Louis Archbishop Raymond Burke are correct that the board is acting outside the law, and yet Rev. Bozek and the board continue to show a blatant disregard for canon law. What value is this teaching our youth?

While it is true that the celebration of the Eucharist will be valid, but illicit, any marriages at St. Stanislaus will not be valid since the Rev. Bozek has no canonical jurisdiction within the Archdiocese of St. Louis. Do the parishioners know this?

Let all of us in St. Louis pray that those at St. Stanislaus may rejoin the faithful of the Archdiocese of St. Louis.

The Rev. John B. Shamleffer
St. Louis
Judicial Vicar of Archdiocese of St. Louis
Fr. Shamleffer is quite right that all of us should continue to pray for these people. In doing so, we are practicing a spiritual work of mercy and with God's grace, they might be reconciled with the Church.
